Work

I have been unable to update my blog as of recently because I am back to work again. Ughh! I hate that place but I do need money. I thought that since I had been with Braeden for the past month straight that we would have issues the day I went back but boy was I wrong. I could barely get him to give me a kiss bye bye. He is a little snot head sometimes. :) We have a big day on Monday with his scope and all that jazz so I have been on the phone with the hospital finding out what will be going down. Well I will get back on a little later when my brain is actually working. Till then...tata!

A Little Trip

Here is a just a cute little picture of Braeden and his Elvis face.

This weekend Braeden and I took a little trip down to Kentucky because his Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Danielle and Uncle Phillip were going to be there for a quick visit. They are making the rounds to visit everyone because Danielle is leaving in April to join the Air Force. Braeden had an awesome time down there playing with Uncle Phillip and getting his Aunt Danielle to sneak him quick drinks of soda. Grandpa and Grandma Chasteen tried to get Braeden to choose which of their sodas he liked the best. Normally I would say that he leans a little to the Dew side but this weekend he really didn't care if it was Dew or DR. Pepper he just wanted them to share. Unfortunately my digital camera battery was dead and I have no idea how to get the video I took with my camcorder onto my computer, so sorry no pictures of his good time from this weekend.

On Monday after we got home he had an appointment with a specialist to try and figure out why he continues to throw up all the time. She told us that it could be reflux or it may be an allergy that causes inflammation in his digestive system. She ordered more blood work and on Monday the 26th of Feb. Braeden will go in and have a scope sent into his digestive system so that she can determine what is causing him to be sick. I am sure Braeden is going to have a lovely time with that procedure. We will let everyone know how it all goes on Monday night or when we have more information on what is going on.

Happy Valentines Day!

Just wanted to write a little note saying Happy Valentines Day to everyone! Braeden and I spent the day just hanging out and waiting for Travis to get home from school. The rest of the day we have just been playing around with Braeden. Travis and I did take some time tonight to play a couple games of Madden '06. I let him beat me in both games that we ended up playing tonight. Here are a couple of pictures of what Travis got for me for Valentines Day. The picture below is of a box of m&m's that have personalized messages on them. On each of the pink m&m's they say either "Travis and Kristy" or " I Love You". How sweet and thoughtful is that. Travis is awesome!

Defiant

Braeden has been obsessed with the stairs lately and it is nearly impossible to keep him on the first floor. Here is a little example of how defiant he has become.

More Snow!

Well the weather man was right this time when he started saying that we were going to get a ton of snow this week. It didn't start snowing until after midnight last night but by this morning we had a ton! Braeden was excited to see that it had snowed again although last time he went out in it he didn't really have a great time. He and Travis spent a lot of time at the front window today checking out all the snow on the ground.

It had been sleeting for a while this afternoon so Travis decided that he should get out there and start shoveling the driveway. Here is a picture of him hard at work.

Shortly after Travis went out to shovel I thought it would be a good idea to take Braeden out and use him as a kind of measuring device to see how much snow on the ground. This time rather than the snow coming up to just his ankles it came to his knees. You know there was no moving around in this stuff if he had a hard time last week.

After I got a good reading on the snow depth I did allow Braeden a little bit of time to walk around with his ball and play. He liked to watch as Travis was hard at work with the shovel in hand. We were only outside for a couple of minutes since it is sooooo cold out there and it was still sleeting like crazy. After we came back into the house Braeden and I had some hot chocolate (which he LOVED) and waited for Travis to come back inside.

Here is a picture of where Travis had shoveled the front sidewalk and how deep the snow really is out there. Oh and don't worry I did make Travis hot chocolate when he came in as well.

Snow

We finally got a couple of inches of snow yesterday so I thought that it would be a good idea to take Braeden out and school him in the joys of playing in the snow. Because I had the MRI on my knee yesterday Braeden was with John most of the day. When I got home John told me that Braeden had been watching the snow fall while ooh-ing and ahh-ing. John thought it would be fun to throw snowballs at Braeden's face who was looking out through the front door.

I had the feeling that it was going to be getting a lot colder soon so last week I went out and bought Braeden a totally cute beenie. He does NOT care for hats but if you can get it on his head and get his mind on something else you are in the clear. Here is a picture of Braeden in his snowsuit that Grandma Compston bought for him and that sweet new beenie.

When I finally got the little man all bundled up he decided that he needed some juice to drink and then ...oops he dropped it. He tried to pick it up however he also ended up on the floor. I watched him crawl around on the floor trying to stand back up as he stated "I 'uck". After I got in a quick laugh I did help him up and out the door we went.

Braeden had a hard time playing out in the snow because it came up past his ankles. He wanted to take his ball out to play so I had to place Braeden in the yard and pick up the ball and hand it to him every time he threw it. I finally decided that he may have more fun if he could move around so I took him to the driveway where the snow isn't as deep and let him walk. He took about two steps and then he fell on his butt which didn't become a problem until he tried to get up. When he decided that he needed to stand up he had to stick his hand in the snow and he lost it. Here is a picture of what he looked like when I got him back on his feet. Needless to say that was the end of our outside fun for today.

When we finally got back into the house it only took Braeden two seconds to stop crying. We had only been outside for two minutes so he didn't have cold feet, wet socks or anything. When we got back into the house he decided that he wanted an ice cream sandwich so I am thinking that his snowsuit must keep him warm and toasty. Maybe next time he will let me put those mittens on his hands but there is no guarantees on that.

Too Skinny Part 2

Here is my skinny boy killing some cake at Mackenzie's first birthday party!

Maybe you think the reason why he is so skinny is because it looks like he can't get the food in his mouth....I promise he eats all the time!

Well yesterday was Braeden's 15 month check up. It was supposed to be at 10 am however due to an emergency with another baby we didn't get into the examination room until 10:30 and still had to wait a while to see the doctor. That wasn't really a big deal because Braeden was a little hungry so it gave him a few minutes to have some Cheerios and milk. When Dr. Thomas did get to our room we found out that Braeden has lost 1 oz. and he is very concerned about his weight and constant throwing up. He old me that Braeden needs to continue on the Nothing Plain Diet, see a specialist, have an Upper GI done and he also needs to have a bunch of blood work done. He also told me that Braeden is doing really well developmentally and to keep reading to him everyday. That is no problem because the boy LOVES to read. Braeden also got 3 different shots which made him really happy.

I got phone calls today to make appointments for the specialist and to have the Upper GI done. The Upper GI is scheduled for Feb. 12th at 8:30 am. Yeah I said 8:30 and they want me to be there 30 minutes early. Are you kidding me? I asked if I could do it any later than that and they said that they only do those early in the morning so I had to do it at that time. It is a blessing in a way because Braeden cannot eat or drink anything for 4 hours before the test so that makes not giving him anything a breeze. The appointment for the specialist is on Feb. 19th at 10:45 am. Not as early as the Upper GI but still these people at Children's are trying to kill me making these appointments so early in the morning. Don't they know a girl has to get some sleep?

As for my knee situation I did go to see my Orthopedic dude and he wants to have an MRI done to see what is going on in there. So I am still off work until I have that done and go back to see him again. Hopefully I will be able to get in and get that done this Monday but we are still waiting for the insurance company to approve it. I am almost out of vacation time now so I really need to get back to work soon or I will be broke! Well that has been our exciting couple of days when it comes to our doctor's visits. I will keep all posted if anything new comes up.
