Pictures

Early this week I decided that since we still don't have 1 year pictures of Braeden that I would go and have those taken. So at 15 months we had 1 year pictures taken. The past couple of times that I have had pictures done it has been a nightmare trying to get Braeden to smile or sit still. I had the idea this time to give Braeden about 30 minutes to get used to the area and the girls that were going to be taking his picture. This turned out to be an excellent idea because it allowed Braeden to eat a few Cheerios and do a little bit of flirting with the girls in the studio. When we got in to take the pictures he smiled, played and helped setting up the props which helped things go so much easier. We got some really good pictures out of him and he had a good time so it worked out for everyone. Here are some of the pictures that we had made. The pictures on the internet aren't the best quality, I promise the actual pictures will look cleaner.

Braeden helped pick out this set up.

Here he is looking super sweet.

Here is my little sporty man.

Braeden decided to play peek-a-boo with the girls takin his picture.

He was such a good boy during the pictures and he is looking soooo cute.

Travis

Thank God for terrific boyfriends! Travis is absolutely wonderful and has been extra awesome lately since I have had issues with my leg. Last week when I had to go to the orthopedic surgeon he was by my side just in case they were going to stab a needle in my leg. He was happy to know that there would not be any needles going into my knee that day (he was not the only one who was glad to hear that news). In addition to going to my appointments with me when I was totally nervous about them he is also GREAT with Braeden. He is always ready and willing to read or play with the little man. I don't know what I would do without him and I am glad that he is in my life. I love you so much Travis!!!!

Travis and I just chillin' at his house. Don't we look good together?

Here are my two men together on Christmas day. How cute!

Demanding

"Give me a BANANA!"

Ok so let me just tell you that Braeden has become a demanding little dude as of lately. He thinks that he needs to be eating a banana like every two seconds. In the morning the first thing he says after telling you to get his blanket, which he just calls kit, is that he wants a banana. I tell him that first we need to change his diaper and then he can have a banana. So the ENTIRE time we are changing his diaper he continues to remind me about the banana until it is at last in his little mouth. He is a little eating machine I have no idea why he is not a little fat man because he eats non-stop. Actually I do know why he is not a little fat man it would because he does not stop running, if he is not eating he is running and sometimes he does both. He is definitely not taking it easy on me and my knee injury.

The doctor has told me to rest my leg so I am on leave from work for a week to see if it helps my knee or not. Well obviously no one told my sweet little boy to slow down for a week and give momma a little bit of a break because I think he may have gotten a little faster as of lately. Luckily I am not in that much pain so I can almost keep up with him. The swelling in my knee is what is bothering me the most. I look like I have some kind of weird knee disease. Yeah it is really sick. I am lucky because Travis does help me out a lot with Braeden and cooks dinner at night. I however am then in charge of cleaning the dishes which does cause a little discomfort. And no it isn't because I have to clean! Our deal is when he cooks I clean so I am cool with that since as we all know I can't cook to save my life. The discomfort comes from standing for very long in one position my knee seems to ache more than if I am walking around. Weird right?

Here is my sweet man Travis and I out and about a few months ago.

Anyways back to my demanding baby! He is not only demanding when it comes to the bananas, which is a word we don't say in our house, it is really anything. Braeden has just started speaking in short sentences which makes his demands a little clearer (just a little because they were pretty clear before). Today he told Travis to open the door and he is constantly telling me he's "gotta go". Other demands we get on a daily basis are... up (just to get back down again), more and book. Oh and if you are ever watching Braeden NEVER forget his blanket because if you do he will not let you hear the end of it. Even though he is sometimes pretty demanding from time to time I love him sooooo much.

Too Skinny

Here is my skinny little man! As you can see we have a hard time finding pants to fit his little butt.

Yesterday Braeden and I made a fun filled journey to meet his new pediatrician, Dr. Thomas. I was supposed to meet Craig at the office but as I was walking out the door I got a call saying that Craig was sick and would be unable to join us. With that said let the adventure begin....

When I first arrived at the office I was told that I would need to fill out like 3 million papers. Normally Braeden is really good in the waiting room so I thought that I wouldn't have any problems, well I was WRONG! Braeden noticed the giant fish tank on one side of the waiting room so thinking that it may keep him occupied or a while I sat on that side of the room. Well the fish didn't hold his attention for long because there were several other kids running around the waiting room so he decided that he would join in on the fun. The other kids were called back into the offices before we were so shortly he was all alone again. Now rather than being a good little boy and sitting with his momma as she tried to start the paperwork he decided to bolt for the door. Now holding the insurance cards, wallet and paperwork I had to try and coax Braeden back into the waiting room. I tell you now that this is not an easy task. Finally after about 20 minutes of running around the waiting room we were called back to the doc.'s office. Thank God for small rooms with closed doors!

Well for those of you that don't know, my baby may be slightly bulimic. He will eat and eat and eat and eat and then throw it ALL back up so it was no surprise to me that he doesn't weigh much. This has been an ongoing battle and the reason why we are changing pediatricians. As of his one year check up he was 18 lb 6 oz, he now weighs in at 18 lbs 13 oz. This means in two and a half months he has only gained 7 oz. Dr. Thomas is very concerned about this weight issue and has now put Braeden on a diet that almost anyone would DIE to be on, The Nothing Plain Diet. Basically anything Braeden eats needs to be packed with calories, for example, toast must have butter or peanut butter and jelly and mashed potatoes must have lots of butter in them. Hopefully this will help with Braeden's weight issue as long as he can keep it down and not throw it all up all around the house. We will know more in about two weeks when we go back to see Dr. Thomas for his 15 month check up. So here is to the nothing plain diet and lets all hope that it works!
