Wednesdays

The only day of the week that Travis and I have off together are Wednesdays so we have made it a point to take Braeden out for a little family fun. Last week we went out to Cox Aboretum and Gardens. Here are a couple of pictures from that outing.

We were trying to get Braeden to stand next to this rock because it was almost as tall as he is. He decided it would be cute to squat next to the rock like me.

Braeden chillin' in the gazebo.

Look at these two handsome guys.

This week we took Braeden out to do a little bit of kite flying. I let Travis handle the kite duties since I don't really remember having much luck with kites when I was younger. The two seemed to have a lot of fun with it.

Travis teaching Braeden how to fly a kite. Maybe not so much teaching as reminding him not to let go of the handle.

While Travis was trying to get the kite in the air Braeden was busy inspecting the quality of the grass.

Travis managed to capture an AWESOME picture of Braeden flying the kite all by himself.

Now Wednesday isn't the only day that Braeden gets to go out and play, it's just the only day the three of us can go out together. Braeden and I spend a lot of Thursdays on hikes in Yellow Springs. Here are a couple of pictures from our most recent hike.

Braeden was super excited at the beginning of our hike to see the waterfalls.

The long awaited waterfall. It was really more of a trickle than a waterfall but Braeden loved it.

Where there is mud, there is a 2 year old with a stick having some fun.

Potty Party!

Finally we have done it! Braeden is "basically" potty trained, which means he only wears a pull up while sleeping. Most mornings he wakes up dry but I am not ready to starting changing sheets in the middle of the night just yet. I told Braeden that if he would go for an entire week without an accident we would have a Potty Party. He was so excited because he really wanted "Potty Pupcakes." (That's right I said pupcakes, which is exactly how Braeden says cupcakes.) We had such a good time that evening watching Braeden getting so excited because he is a big boy now.

Mother's Day Gifts

I just wanted to post a couple of pictures of the cute "little" flower that Braeden made for Mother's Day at daycare. How cute is he standing there with a flower that is as tall as he is?

Let's Go Reds!

Last Wednesday Travis was able to score some sweet tickets to the Reds vs. Marlins baseball game. We were all super excited to go to the game however I was a little bit worried about how Braeden would do sitting in one spot for a long period of time. Braeden actually did really well, it was about the sixth inning before he started asking if we were going to leave. It was funny because when everyone would start clapping he thought the game was over and would ask "We all done?" We decided to stay until the seventh inning stretch and then made a run for it. When we left the Reds were dominating the game. When we got home and checked the score we saw that a lot had happened since we left and the Reds barely pulled out the win with a score of 7-6. Here are a couple of the pictures we took while at the game.

Travis and Braeden watching the game and eating peanuts.

Doesn't he look like he is having a good time?

Mommy and Braeden cheesin' it up right before we left.

Braeden tried cotton candy for the first time. He wasn't really all that impressed with it. I think that he thought it was just a little bit like putting hair in his mouth.
There is also a picture of the three of us that they took at the Reds game at www.reds.com/fanfoto. You can see it if you choose the Marlins game on May 14, 2008 then gallery 10. Don't mind the fact that it says PROOF right through the picture.

School Pictures

All I have to say is I have the cutest little boy in the whole world!

Just a little FYI: I know that i promised more pictures on here this past weekend but I have been having some car troubles. Now that we have finally resolved that issue I should have a little more time to blog on here. I also went out today and bought the Nikon D40 that I have been lusting after for the last year. You can expect to see some AWESOME pictures coming your way soon.

Dora?

I have been absolutely terrible about posting on here on a regular basis but I am promising by the end of the weekend to have a few pictures for everyone to look at. In the meantime, I wanted to share a video of my munchkin doing a little counting... in Spanish! It hasn't been perfected just yet but I didn't realize he was trying to count in Spanish until just the other day. I am sure that he will have it down in no time. Do you think he might be watching a little too much Dora and Diego?
